New York, April 26, 2010 —Social Justice Initiatives (SJI) held its annual honors dinner recently to recognize students and graduates who have shown exceptional dedication to the field of public-interest law.  
 
This year, the student body chose Carol Sanger, Barbara Aronstein Black Professor of Law, as the Outstanding Public Interest Faculty Member of the Year.
 
Other recipients of awards given by SJI are:

 Cathy Albisa '89, Executive Director and Co-Founder of the National Economic and Social Rights Initiative – Honored Graduate of the Year
  • Justin Steil '10 – Outstanding Public Interest Student of the Year
  • Amanda Hungerford '10 – Joseph Haaf Award for Excellence in Student Pro Bono Service
  • Jessica Radbord '10 – Ellen P. Chapnick "Make It So Award"

 
Recipients of awards presented by students include:
  • New Student Initiative of the Year - Iraqui Immigrant Representation Project
  • Jean Zachariasiewicz '10 – Peer of the Year
